Family Sports Day was organised by the interns (11-15 years) of the closed summer 2022 internship program. The event comprised of families playing different sporting activities in different age brackets 3-9 years, 10- 16 years and 17+.
There were track events, egg races, basketball, football, under and over, ring toss and palm race. It was a beautiful event for the players, cheerers and coaches.
Some key lessons our young interns learnt from the planning and execution process are:
> When planning, organisation is key and the fact that everything should be done within the timeline you are given instead of waiting till the day before or in the middle of the event.
> I learnt that people have different interests which gave me a good idea of what to plan if we do this again. And also the power and beauty of togetherness
> How to organise an event
> You have to be more patient with the younger children
> Always have a backup plan because things will not always go to plan
It was a come one, come all event as we saw a lot of people attend making it more enjoyable.
Family Sports Day was a success.
