John Hugh Jennings was a man with a vison. He envisioned a school where complete beginners could learn painting with absolutely no background or previous training. For years he looked for an avenue that could accommodate his vision. In partnership with LADC we made his vison happen.
On Saturday the 27th of July 2013, he started the Art school – which was his pride and joy. The Art school was a project he had thought about putting together prior to joining us. He started with 8 students, most of whom had no knowledge of painting in oils. The class grew so quickly, he had to create a waiting list due to the limited number of spaces available.
The Art School has students who come from different parts of the world. Some of their works are displayed in the Art School and for a few others, their works have been exhibited and sold. Also displayed in the Art School are some of the projects he hoped to achieve this year and in the near future.
We are very honoured to have had John as part of us during his time here. We look forward to finding avenues to push forward the dreams and vision he had for the Art School.
Here is some feedback from some of his former students

“He was like flash of light for me when I had just arrived in Liverpool”. – Jurgita Banyte
“Our wonderful teacher John Jennings found out about my passion and assured me that this was all I needed. In 3 years, John Jennings taught me how to create oil paintings of a sellable standard and honed my natural ability to imagine, observe, create and learned the disciplines of planning, patience, and control.”- Stephanie read more
John died on the 21st of May 2018 but his legacy lives on.
